UMANA Ohio Biennial Picnic Held in Parma

The Ohio chapter of UMANA held its biennial picnic at Pokrova Ukrainian Parish pavilion on Sunday, September 28, 2025. It was well attended by 50+ healthcare professionals of Ukrainian heritage and their families on a beautiful afternoon.

Dr. Andrew Drozd, the new Ohio chapter president, presented a program about his recent medical mission to Ukraine.  Dr. Maria Strus spoke about the highlights of activities during the time of her leadership as president during the last ten years and Dr. Ihor Zachary, also former chapter president, explained the history of the Ohio chapter.

Dr. Andrew Zura was recognized for all his work obtaining medical equipment that was sent to Ukraine. We expressed our gratitude to Dr. Andrew Zura and recognized his contributions with a plaque.  Dr. Zura, an anesthesiologist from the Cleveland Clinic, provided, with his endless effort, much needed equipment and supplies to Ukraine.

As the war ravages on, the needs of Ukrainians grow exponentially.  Further support is made possible by your contributions whether financial or through donations of time.   Donations may be made through Fund to Aid Ukraine by writing a check to FTAU through the Cleveland Selfreliance Federal Credit Union and make a notation “for UMANA Ohio”.

Thank you for your tremendous support!

Medina Community Supports Ukraine

A public meeting was held by the Democratic Party in Medina Ohio on March 1st with over 100 attendees who also voiced support for Ukraine. One of the members is Kathie Jones, who was an organizer of a large collection of medical and humanitarian supplies in March of 2022 after the Russian invaded Ukraine.
